Basic geometric shapes are associated with specific colors, just as music notes. Where does the blue circle come from, the red square and the yellow triangle? ...could this last one come from the pyramids?
Yellow is associated with the sun, gold, taxis and lemons…La Ruta del Trompe travels in between this meanings of yellow; visiting Art Brussels (an art expo “with resources”), architectural icons of Brussels and Rotterdam and an extra large format artwork of meandering angles.  This artwork is shown zooming in and out, and backwards in time. We explore with the idea of deconstruction and “how a mental map takes shape, without law, without norms”.

The bright and neon yellow of a hoodie is contrasted with the somber and controversial black Burka that is shown. Nico talks about the artist, Shelbatra: “she can’t leave a public space without a performance, to make a spontaneous show should be called a Shellformance”. Seen from the Mecca, is she a sinner? This chapter shows the artist provoking with her body using and (simply?) transforming a religious uniform and defying gravity using architecture.

CBalkan Emancipation

From Macedonia to Chiloé, then from Brussels to Barcelona to finally get to Pristina…what’s happening?  Sometimes we connect, joining objects, words, colors and spaces skipping from countries at the end of the world to countries that are still defining themselves. From “machines that speed up the rhythms faster than the mind can work”, to haircuts, mannequins, and a performance of women fighting for their emancipation.
